Eventually his child Tywin helped bring the wayward bannermen to heel and restored the homely house to its previous glory. Thereafter soon, Tywin was made Hand of the King by Aerys II Targaryen, holding that position for quite some time. When Aerys happened hostage by Denys Darklyn, Tywin's traditional approach took half a year to solve the issue.
